Flying High

Add To Basket

This is an interaction song, where the children ( with the help of teachers if needed) hold 1 large piece of cloth up in a big circle. Place a little soft toy bird in the middle of it. At first the song sings of the bird being asleep and the cloth must be kept very still. Then in the chorus the bird is flying high, so wave the cloth and make the bird fly in the air, always trying to keep the bird over the cloth! To make it more of a game, if the bird touches one of the children, when flying, they are out. Great for a party game too!

This is a chance to learn about shapes. The song does not specify the name of the shape, so you can choose which one you want to sing about, according to the level of the children. Sing the verse then hold up a shape and count the sides of it, before starting all over again! I think this would make a good assembly song for the very young, but have not added a backing track, so they can sing with the vocal.
